1. Introduction
This report evaluates the performance of a 6kW handheld laser welding machine when welding 10mm carbon steel. The test assesses penetration depth, weld quality, speed, and operational efficiency compared to traditional welding methods. Objective
Verify the feasibility of single-pass welding on 10mm carbon steel.

Analyze weld seam quality (porosity, cracks, penetration).

Compare welding speed and distortion levels with MIG/TIG welding.

2. Test Setup & Parameters

Laser Welder: 6kW handheld fiber laser welder (MAX/RAYCUS source)

Material: 10mm low-carbon steel (Q235 equivalent)

Shielding Gas: Argon (8-15 L/min)

Welding Gun: Single motor welding gun
